Welcome to the occasional kickstarter updates! Kickstarters we're backing, keeping an eye on, or ignoring.
There are 11 days left on the kickstarter for the second printing of Bargain Quest. Bargain Quest sold out after Shut Up & Sit Down's excellent review, so we jumped on this one. It's a simple game about shop-keepers in a town besieged by evil, stocking the arriving heroes with all the gear they can afford! We're looking forward to cracking this box open when it ships, and the expansion that's coming with it!
Definitely buying into the hype a bit on this one, but the theme seems really solid (who hasn't wanted to plan a bank heist). It sounds like there are some hidden goal mechanics for each player as well which I think is one of the most interesting aspects in modern gaming. Cooperation without complete knowledge of each other!
The high shipping is a factor in why we turned away from this kickstarter (with 21 days to go). Also the video just didn't quite draw us in. The artwork is pretty but all the cards look kind of the same, and the designer states on BoardGameGeek that 3-5 players is more of a requirement and that the experience with 2 isn't quite that great.

Anything that keeps Patrick Rothfuss from finishing The Kingkiller Chronicle has a strike against it. This game certainly looked pretty but we are waiting a bit on this one for when it (most likely) hits retail. The Brandon Sanderson expansion already announced is exciting news for this game though!
